I also like coffee! What I usually do when I go to coffeeshops to be social with co-workers (who like to go get coffee after a meal) is order some foamed milk and add some cinnamon or honey from the counter. It's a nice relaxing drink, and I can add a teabag when I get back to the office. I guess this might not be an option if you go to a friend's house, though.
